The “Freestyle Daily” lists the complete schedule of what’s happening each day. There’s so much going on — Hawaiian cultural lessons, culinary demonstrations, cornhole tournaments, trivia, live music, pool games, dance classes, karaoke and much more. If you are traveling with children or teens, the ship offers youth programs for them. We always enjoy Hawaii regional cuisine at restaurants in Hawaii, but we didn’t find anything like that on the ship. At the Aloha Cafe on the final evening, they tried to have a “Taste of Hawaii” dinner, but it was disappointing.

Touring the road to Hana with Valley Isle Excursions
When the sun sets, get ready for unforgettable stargazing well past midnight. You'll have plenty of time to explore the culture, sights and local flavour of five unique ports including O`ahu, Maui, Hilo, Kona and Kaua`i. Looking to make the most out of your time in the region?

If you love seafood, reserve a table (at least three months in advance) at Mama's Fish House for some of the freshest catches imaginable—yes, it's pricy, but totally worth the splurge. There are bubblegum hues in Pink's Champagne Bar, for instance, and a riot of vivid bead-inspired colors in the Mardi Gras Cabaret Lounge & Nightclub. There are two pools, multiple hot tubs and lots of appealing outside deck space—including the Aloha Lanai Bar aft on deck 11—ideal for sail-away cocktails at sunset. Few places on Earth are more picturesque than Hawaii, and despite rather industrial views while docked, you can enjoy views of mountains, greenery and -- in some ports -- bustling metropolises. It's lucky, then, that more than half of Pride of America's cabins are outfitted with balconies.
North America Travel Guide
Americans make up the majority of passengers followed by Australians (thanks in part to Australia's proximity to Hawaii). You'll also be sailing with British citizens, as well of people of Hispanic and Asian heritage. The Pride of America has many stateroom options, from a studio that’s designed for the solo traveler, balcony rooms and for the posh experience, suites.
Maximize your pre- and post-cruise time on Oahu
Stay longer and see more with Norwegian, the only cruise line offering a cruisetour in Hawaii. Our gift shops onboard carry everything you’ll need for fun in the sun. Shop from a variety of souvenirs, cosmetics, clothing, snacks and sundry items.
Most of the common areas of the ship are decorated with bright, exciting colors. Generally speaking, the decor was in good taste and reflected the excitement and adventure of a cruise. In some ways, the Pride of America looked brand new – especially in the common areas such as dining rooms, shops, guest relations, hallways, etc. Honolulu, with its near perfect weather every day and beautiful mountains and tropical landscapes, is a destination not to be missed.
The NCL Pride of America Hawaii Itinerary
While a limited number of staterooms can accommodate up to eight people, most comfortably accommodate two people. Follow our social media and blog for the latest cruise and travel news, including our best vacation deals. With so many bars and lounges to discover, finding your favorite may take a few days. Pop some bubbly and toast to the good life inside Pink’s Champagne Bar. Dance until the wee hours at New Orleans-inspired Mardi Gras Cabaret Lounge & Nightclub. Whether you’re looking to meet up with friends or make new ones, there’s always an opportunity to mix it up.
Night Hawaii Hnl Inter Island (Hnl/Hnl) sailing on the Pride Of America
Kauai was our last stop in this seven-day island hopping Hawaiin cruise with NCL. Soon we came across the Norwegian 7-day island hopping cruise. We were shocked at how many islands we could visit in such a short amount of time. Princess and Seabourn also include Hawaii on longer cruise itineraries. In 2024, Seabourn is offering a 145-day cruise from Los Angeles to Athens, Greece.

About a month before you depart on your cruise, you will want to book your shore excursions to make sure that you are able to take part in what you want to do. Shore excursion options include beach days, tours, active experiences and so much more. This award-winning itinerary visits the four islands and gives you the most time in port – nearly 100 hours – to explore the aloha spirit of Hawaii on NCL's Pride of America.
Relax with a hot-stone massage, one of over 50 specialty treatments offered. At our onboard spas, treatments range from the classic to the luxurious. Let our pampering professionals soothe and rejuvenate you with facials, massages, acupuncture and a full menu of services. Modern, comfortable and stylish staterooms with nice appointments throughout, including a window with clear views of the ocean. We splashed through the rain puddles and drove past the area where Jurassic Park movies were filmed. We cleaned off in a waterfall before heading back to port.
If you like to spend more time in your cabin, you can choose from an ocean view room, a balcony room, or even a suite. We would spend all day out on the islands, come back to the ship for dinner and evening entertainment, go to sleep, then wake up on a new island. Norwegian Cruise Line offers Hawaii cruises year-round, departing from Honolulu. It's the only cruise line with voyages around the islands without the long trip across the Pacific. If you'd rather dive into a snorkel adventure, two top catamaran excursions are the six-hour Molokini Crater & Turtle Snorkel ($249 per person) or the 8.5-hour Lanai Sail & Snorkel ($229). I did Molokini—an offshore crescent-shaped crater that's home to more than 250 species of tropical fish—on my first visit to Hawaii and enjoyed it.
For more insight into the cruise experience, check out our Pride of America Hawaii cruise video. Norwegian Cruise Line is known for their “freestyle” dining. You can dine when you like, where you like and with who you like. You are not limited to a set dining time or assigned to a group table. The ship provides soap and shampoo in dispenser containers. It’s nice that you don’t have to worry about individual plastic containers and that’s a win for the environment.
We didn’t spend much time here as we wanted to board the ship early in order to find our rooms and get familiar with the ship, as this was our first cruising experience. There were several stories, the first few floors had our rooms and the middle and top floors had dining and entertainment venues. Taking this amazing Hawaiian cruise would give us a taste of what each island was about. And it would give us some insight on where we would want to spend more time on future island visits. If you’re looking for the most bang for your buck, head to Hawaii in the fall.
Ships spend long days in port, and a variety of restaurants and events, like movies screened under the stars, are sure to keep you and yours entertained on board the ship. And while 10 might seem like a lot of sea days, skipping the airport could be a priceless vacation upgrade. Several cruise lines, including Holland America, Princess Cruises, and Viking Cruises, call on ports in Hawaii, with many of them traveling to or from the United States or Canada. Norwegian Cruise Line is the only company that sails exclusively between Oahu and neighboring Hawaiian islands. The Pride of America, a United States-themed ship, makes stops in Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island before returning to Honolulu, a perfect home base for visiting Waikiki Beach and Pearl Harbor.
Plus, our experienced travel consultants have access to exclusive vacation deals to make sure you get the best value for your time and money. Say goodbye to stress, everyday troubles and the norm – and Aloha to fun, sun, luaus, and much more when you choose a cruise to Hawaii with Norwegian Cruise Line. Live ‘Ke ola Maika’I’ (The Good Life) as you gaze upon some of the most picturesque islands, natural formations, and wildlife in the world. Engage in an incredible day of golf on the edge of a volcanic crater. Explore and inspire yourself with a trek through the Maui caves.
